Travel Advice

If you are traveling, please book a consultation with a travel clinic with a designated travel physician for recommendations about specific vaccinations, medications and precautions. Have your detailed itinerary available for the consultation. We recommend you consult with a physician with travel expertise, rather than a pharmacist consultation. Be sure to ask if the consultant can prescribe all the recommended vaccines and medications. No referral is required.
OHIP does not cover visits to travel clinics nor visits/advice or prescriptions by any physician that is travel-related. In addition, OHIP does not cover the cost of travel-related vaccinations nor the cost of their administration by a nurse or pharmacist.
The CDC traveler’s health website provides up-to-date information on many travel destinations and recommended vaccinations. However consulting with a travel physician can help you personalize this to your exact itinerary and risk.
